La corteccia e il gheriglio (The Cortex and the kernel), polypthic, 2020-20**, mixed media on canvas, 30 x 40 cm each.The Cortex and the kernel is a polyptych made up of 28 paintings, and intends to relate two antithetical elements: the visible surface of the bark on which the tales of the tree and the inhabitants of the wood can be read; and the kernel, the internal walnut and edible part, guarded by the husk and the endocarp. The polyptych wants to analyze what is readable on the surface and the hidden internal memory, recreating a large-sized book in which the image made up of 28 fragments reveals itself as illusory, in a single glance.
